Greetings from the middle of the airplane on the way home from the south. The weather was rainy, similar to the northeast and our first flight on Thursday was delayed.
As the flight attendants desperately tried to seat a family in their assigned seats, Granny decided that she did not want to sit next to Gramps. Then uncle was perturbed and moved his seat. Cousin Billy Bob also got into the fray as we sat and waited for them to just sit down. With the melee and stormy weather, we left the terminal 90 minutes late and arrived in Atlanta 10 minutes before our second flight was to leave. As we ran through 4 terminals, we arrived at our gate 5 minutes before take off with our plane clearly visible through the window. Yet, the door to the plane had been bolted and we ‘technically’ missed out flight.
OK, I know that there are FTA guidelines, but I am standing right there….the plane is there…the pilot….hey, let us in! Nope….we had to wait a few hours for another flight. I waved to my plane as it taxied on the runway and took off. All was not lost, the airline gave us vouchers for a lunch in the airport….ew…
Now that we are home, we get ready for great adventure number two as we fly to Houston to see the big kid. How is he doing? Well, pretty well. Aside from wanting a 100 pound tire to place in my yard with a rope tied around it, he was asked to help the Pitching Doctor with a weekend camp for kids. Since he had nothing to do (uh, note to big kid….when is the last time you went to mass? read a book? Did your laundry? read your LSAT bok?)….he agreed. The PD was so happy with him, he took him to dinner. Nice….”Mom, I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu. Other guys were ordering steak. My dinner only cost $9.00.” Nice, kid, your momma raised you well. The only pocketbook that you drain for a meal is mine. I have no doubts that he will order steak when we are visiting him this weekend.
With that, he has been busy as a bee training and teaching and throwing…..This camp and the Doc seems to be doing wonders for his game as well as his confidence. Whew! This was definitely needed. In the future, should he need a tune up or confidence building, he can fly to Houston and meet with the guy. He has now established a rapport and they are quite friendly. All in all, the trip to the Pitching Doctor has done exactly what it was supposed to do. Now, we will meet him there and take trips to various cities in Texas. I’d love to go back to San Antonio. That was a great city. Great food, nice people, and interesting things to do….

The headlines on the MSN home page: It's Brian Austin Green's birthday....huh? who? I did not click on that link....is he a dictator in the Caribbean?
Diva dog has been alone for 4 days which means that she was especially needy when we got home. JA, Diva’s walker, spends extra time with her, but I know that the dog missed Tink. There are days when Tink is not home and Diva sits by the door and howls….crazy dog. I look at her and say: “Hey, I’m home!” But she only wants Tink….and so it goes….
Sadly, as we arrived home from the south, Diva did not fare very well. She missed Tink and barked so much that dog whisperer JA turned the radio on for her. She could barely bark and interestingly, strained her doggie vocal cords :-(
Perhaps we need Caesar Milan, the real dog whisperer to stop by the house and offer Diva a little therapy or Prozac....
Now I think....should I go on Thursday to Texas or stay home? After all, Diva has already been traumatized....as the Clash sing: "Should I stay or should I go?" Either Diva or I need a shrink......she's a dog...but she's Diva...."
What else is going on? Uh….nothing! Sort of…I still have to finish my two courses this week. The students are a bit cranky as their big term papers are due. So, I have to be extra 'present' to alleviate their anxiety...a bit like Diva dog, except they can not only type their angst, their vocal cords are never strained enough that they cannot tell me exactly what they are thinking....
Have a great day!
Here are the lyrics to the Clash song:
Darling you gotta let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine
I'll be here til the end of time
So you got to let know
Should I stay or should I go?
Always tease tease tease
Siempre - coqetiando y enganyando
You're happy when I'm on my knees
Me arrodilla y estas feliz
One day is fine, next is black
Un dias bien el otro negro
So if you want me off your back
Al rededar en tu espalda
Well come on and let me know
Me tienes que desir
Should I stay or should I go?
Me debo ir o que darme
Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
An if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know
This indecisions bugging me
Esta undecision me molesta
If you don't want me, set me free
Si no me quieres, librame
Exactly whom I'm supposed to be
Diga me que tengo ser
Don't you know which clothes even fit me?
Saves que robas me querda?
Come on and let me know
Me tienes que desir
Should I cool it or should I blow?
Me debo ir o quedarme?
Should I stay or should I go now?
Yo me frio o lo sophlo?
If I go there will be trouble
Si me voi - va ver peligro
And if I stay it will be double
Si me quedo es doble
So you gotta let me know
Me tienes que decir
Should I stay or should I go?
Yo me frio o lo sophlo?
